Mentoring
We offer free mentoring support in Oxfordshire to anyone who wants to talk about their business. The service is confidential, and totally independent of any public or political authority.
You Benefit From Our Experience
The best business mentors are those who have set up and run their own small business. These people will have the experience to really help, and frankly they can empathise better with any business issue you may have because they have probably already experienced the same problem. Even better is to have a mentor who continues to run their own business. These are busy people who are prepared to spend some time to help another in business. All of our mentors are like this; they have earned the right to mentor you. Furthermore, about half of our mentors were originally supported by TBAC when they began their business, and they really understand how important it is to get the necessary support in business, especially in the early years.
Getting Started
We ask you, the client, to honour the fact that our mentors are busy with their own businesses, and to arrange an appointment at a time and place to suit the mentor. It is quite possible to deal with your issues in one meeting, which is usually 90 minutes, however we prefer that we meet more often to build up a rapport. Typically we will meet quarterly or six monthly...it is up to you.
We Don’t Give Advice
Mentoring is not about giving advice, nor is it about making decisions for you, nor is it about doing the work for you. Mentoring is about opening your eyes to the possibilities. It is about exploring your ideas, and expanding them. We will help you with the vision, with enthusiasm and experience. If you have a business plan, let us challenge it with you. There is no cost, and you benefit.
What You Can Do for Us
We do ask one thing of you. If your business grows, and becomes successful, and if you believe that part of the reason is because of the help you have had from this service, and if you can afford it, we would ask that you sponsor TBAC so that others can benefit from the service into the future.
